Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

Everything you need to know about beginning your counselling journey.

How do I book my first appointment?

You can book an appointment through our online booking system by visiting the Appointments page, or you can contact us directly:

Email or fill out the contact form on the website and we'll then help guide you through the process of booking your first session.

What should I expect in my first session?

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know you and understand what brings you to counselling. We'll:

  • Discuss your goals
  • Explore your concerns
  • Begin to develop a plan together

There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with—this is your space and your pace.

Is counselling or coaching right for me?

Counselling is a collaborative therapeutic process in which a trained professional provides a safe, confidential space to explore emotional difficulties, psychological challenges, and patterns of behaviour. It is suited to those experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or relationship difficulties, and aims to foster self-awareness, emotional regulation, and meaningful change.

Coaching is a structured, goal-oriented process that focuses on personal or professional development. Rather than addressing clinical concerns, coaching supports individuals in clarifying goals, building confidence, overcoming obstacles, and creating actionable strategies for growth and positive change.

If you're unsure which approach is right for you, our team can help you determine the best fit during an initial consultation.
